July 2–4 2025 | Invitation & Call for Contributions
Hosted annually every July at University for Continuing Education Krems, the DAC Summer School is a dynamic platform exploring the intersections of cultural heritage, technology, and sustainability. Organized by the Department for Arts and Cultural Studies / University for Continuing Education Krems in collaboration with in scope GmbH, this event brings together professionals, academics, and practitioners from various disciplines to critically engage with contemporary issues in game studies, collecting, archiving, and curating practices.
The 2025 edition (July 2–4 2025), themed Practices of Collecting, Archiving, and Curating in the Age of Digital Transformation, delves deeper into the implications of generative AI and digital technologies. It aims to address how societies and organizations manage tangible and intangible heritage amidst increasing digitalization.
Call for Contributions: For the DAC Summer School 2025, we invite contributions from cultural, curatorial, archival and organizational studies that address the diverse practices of ‚sorting out’ and ‘sorting in‘ in the sense of making material and immaterial collections accessible and meaningful. We particularly invite contributions that critically examine the opportunities and challenges of increasing technologization, especially through AI. Abstract Submission Deadline: April 7, 2025
